SPARK™ Communication Skills Builder with the Six Vs

Name: _______________________ Batch: ____________ Date: ____________
Trainer: WordLife Communication Consultancy

How to use this workbook

This workbook is a practice engine, not a note book.
Rule: Less writing, more doing. You’ll learn communication the same way you learn driving: rep → feedback → rep.

1) THE WORDLIFE SIX Vs (Your Skill Map)

V1: Verbal (Words)

What it is: Clarity, structure, questioning, reframing, summarising.
Success looks like: People understand you fast and remember your point.
Quick measure: “Could someone repeat your message correctly?”

Example:
Weak: “We should improve our system.”
Strong: “This week, we’ll reduce response time by 20% by fixing 3 bottlenecks: X, Y, Z.”

V2: Vocal (Voice)

What it is: Pace, pauses, pitch, emphasis, volume, warmth.
Success looks like: Your voice guides attention and feels trustworthy.
Quick measure: “Did your voice match your message?”

Example:
“I’m calm” (spoken fast + sharp) = people hear “I’m angry but hiding it.”

V3: Visual (Body Language)

What it is: Posture, eye contact, facial signals, gestures, space, presence.
Success looks like: Your nonverbal is congruent with your intent.
Quick measure: “If your words were muted, would your body still communicate the right meaning?”

Example:
Open palms + steady head + soft eyes = “I’m safe to talk to.”

V4: Value (Meaning + Ethics + Usefulness)

What it is: Your message carries relevance, respect, truth, and benefit.
Success looks like: People feel: “This was worth my time.”
Quick measure: “Does this help the listener, not just the speaker?”

Example:
Instead of proving someone wrong, you make the solution easy to accept.

V5: Vibe (Emotional Climate)

What it is: Psychological safety, rapport, empathy markers, energy regulation.
Success looks like: People speak openly and collaborate with you.
Quick measure: “Do people relax or tighten around you?”

Example:
Same feedback, different vibe:

  • “You did this wrong.” (threat vibe)

  • “Let’s adjust one thing and make it stronger.” (growth vibe)

V6: Versatility (Context Mastery)

What it is: Adapt your style to audience, power distance, culture, time, stakes.
Success looks like: You stay effective with any person: senior, junior, angry, shy, resistant.
Quick measure: “Can you communicate the same idea in 3 styles?”

Example:
Explain the same policy to a child, a colleague, and a CEO—without losing meaning.
